| I have 2002 ford Taurus. I first noticed this when I went to pass on the highway when my car wen from 100 to 110 km it started to sort of buck and rock and would not go into next gear. When I eased off gas and went gradually the car went up to speed. Now I notice that at any speed if I give car a lot of gas the car does this rocking and bucking. This does not happen when just driving with gradual increase in speed. It just happens when I want car to respond quickly like to pass or merge.[/b] |

Is your engine service light on. I suspect that it is. Have the computer scanned for fault codes. You can do it yourself. Buy a code reader for around $50 on Ebay and then post the codes here and any of us can help you diagnose the cause. _________________ Kevin - Housecall Auto Mechanics |

I'm surprised about that. Cars that new that have symptoms such as you are describing rarely escape setting a fault code and the check engine lamp coming on. Even if it were a transmission problem, there are many fault codes that have to do with the transmission. _________________ Kevin - Housecall Auto Mechanics |
