My wife and I own a 1999 300M. We love it but find it a horrible
car to drive in the winter. All it takes is a dusting of snow to remind us
of it's poor handling. I thought with front wheel drive there
wouldn't be any major concerns ( I realize it's not a 4x4).
Do you think snow tires would make a difference on this car and
have you heard any other complaints as to its winter handling.

I bought my 2001 300M on 5/31/01 and now have 6500 miles on it. I have had something
like 40 cars during my lifetime, including several luxury and sport
models and this one is the best. Performance is outstanding. I enjoy
the size, comfort and luxury of the 300M and have had no mechanical
problems. I was somewhat disappointed with the interior noise level. It's
not high, but I feel it should be a bit quieter for this type car. My
guess is that the 17" wheels and low profile tires are to blame. I
would gladly buy another when the time comes and have no reservations in
recommending the "Mighty 300M" to my friends.

I recently traded a 1999 LHS for a new 2002 Chrysler 300M.
Both cars had the Infinity Sound system except my LHS had bass that I
could hear. The beautiful bass sounds that I loved are noticeably
missing in my 300M. My dealer says that Infinity cut back on bass
because it was blowing out speakers. This seems plausible; but, did
the bass have to be virtually eliminated? Why not heavier speakers
given the money I paid for the option? They went too far. Is
there a remedy or an adjustment that can restore the bass?

I have a 2001 Chrysler 300M with a little over 3,000 miles on
it. I absolutely love this car! (My 6 previous cars have been Mercury Grand
Marquis models--79, 82, 84, 88, 92, and 96. Not unhappy with them; but, wanted a
change.) The 300M has loads of power, surprising to me since I had been used to
the V-8 and was sure the Chrysler 3.5 liter V-6 would be under powered. Wrong!
The car rides, drives, and handles well. The interior is simply lavish; I've got
leather seats, and I adore the wood in the car. The Infinity sound system is a
blast! I bought the car sort of on impulse--my legal assistant's daughter was a
new employee at the dealership and begged me to come and look at the 300M. But,
I am glad I did. NO major complaints. The only thing I would change if I could
would be to move the cup holders out of the center console to the dash, where
they belong; they are in the way on the console.

THERE ARE NO SHUT OFF CONTROLS AT EACH AIR VENT WHICH IS REALLY
DISSAPOINTING....ALSO, IT IS DIFFICULT TO CLOSE THE TRUNK AS THERE IS NO
OINSIDE STRAP OR OUTSIDE HANDLE, AND THE CENTER FRONT THREE AIR
VENTS JUST DON'T HIT YOU WITH THE AIR; AS A SUGGESTION IT SHOULD BE TWO
LONGER ONES. THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T HAVE A TELESCOPIC
ADJUSTMENT...ITS A LITTLE ACKWARD. AND FINALLY, THE ROAD NOISE IS
VERY EXCESSIVE....OTHERWISE...I LOVE TO DRIVE THE CAR.

I own a 2001 300M and have driven it 10K miles with nothing to complain
about. Chrysler has introduced a navigation system for the 300M, but I am
presently having trouble getting any literature from Chrysler on this
system. I share your comments on the 300M and if one likes to drive a
performance sport sedan...this car rivals the BMW. I hope Chrysler
introduces the 300 HP 3.5 this coming year as planned.

I have only put 16,000 on my car as I am out of town a lot but it is as
you say a very comfortable car and has enough sporty-attitude for an
aggressive driver like me. (My previous car was a '94 Firebird TransAm
GT.) I got the handling package with my '99 and like the feel and control
it gives me. The premium sound system is fantastic - it moves my pant leg
when I turn up the volume on a song that has a lot of bass!
The only complaint I have with my car is the interior fan is noisy at
any setting over low. I have had the car back to fix a buzzing noise in
the dash when it was new, but have had no issues since.
I would like to get those new clear taillight lens on my car - do you
know if they will fit?
Best Regards, EB
