Belts

Do you know how many general types of belts are there in your auto? Well, two. These are under-the-hood belts and the cabin belts. Under-the-hood belts are made from metal, primary of which is the timing belt that drives the engine parts to ensure perfect timing during combustion. Another is the seat belt found inside the cabin of your auto, the one you place across your body upon taking your seat.

Authorities require drivers and passengers alike to wear seat belts always because they are vital safety devices during accidents, especially collisions. These belts allow free movement in ordinary circumstances. However, in times of accidents like collisions, they become locked and they keep you safely fastened to your vehicle, keeping you from being thrown forward and out of the windshield. Seat belts may be crafted from various materials, with fabric as the most common material used. However, you may also get upgraded leather belts for optimum durability and strength.

So while you may be frequently inspecting the under-the-hood belts in your auto to ensure that they are working well, it is as important that you pay attention to your seat belts as well. You never know when accidents may happen, so you better be armed when the inevitable time comes. Always ensure that your vehicle's belt is in top shape.
