A brake disc, also known as rotor, is the round cast iron or ceramic found in the hub of each wheel, which rotates with it when you drive. The heart of all disc brakes, it's the component used to slow down or stop the wheels when pressure is applied on the brake pedal. Nevertheless, the disc alone can't stop the movement of the wheels; it needs to establish contact with the disc brake pads'through the clamping motion of the brake calipers'and generate friction.

Brake discs have different designs, each of which featuring different benefits. You can have a slotted or drill-holed disc to solve the warping problem known to common rotors. Also, some discs are CNC-machined for more strength, something needed in more demanding braking conditions. You can choose from any of these and never worry about setting it up as most can be easily installed.
