| My XL-7 has an intermittent electrical problem. My wife was driving it Monday afternoon, and everything shut off while going down the interstate. It only lasted a second or two and came right back on. I drove it today to see if it would do it again and it did. Only when I did it it shut off for about 4 or 5 seconds while driving. While I continued to coast down the road it came back on and I put it in neutral, started it up, and put it back in drive and continued on back to my house. I went and got the battery/alternator tested. The battery has 810 cold cranking amps and 12.95 volts with the vehicle turned off which is great. Then I started the car and tested the voltage. With no accessories on it has 14.1 volts, and with the air conditioner on high it has 13.7 volts. Both of which I think are good. No check engine or malfunction light comes on. The dealership thinks it might be a loose ground somewhere on the vehicle and wants to charge me $85.00 an hour to try to find it. I don't have the money to let them "try" to find it at my expense. What should I do? |
